DD 1903 Vintage Catholic Rosary Faceted Gold Baltic Amber & Sterling w 18K Solid Gold Medals - Extreme Rarity

All Antique and Vintage Rosaries that I list come from my private collection. They are genuine antiques – older than 100 years – or genuine vintages – from 30 to 100 years old. All are in perfect condition and still very much usable. They are unique and a real pleasure to collect or still use.

The very exceptional item in this listing has the following characteristics:

The rosary is dated 1903 as indicated on the hand painted and enamel Mary medal attached under the triangle. . It is made of rare and valuable materials.
It was customary to hang also valuable medals, some inherited from relatives. There is therefore a possibility that it may be newer but not after 1920.

1) The beads are genuine Baltic Amber of a beautiful gold color and diamond hand faceted as may seen from close ups. It is of top quality, color and exceptional carving as beads are practically all identical - only very minimal size deviations.
The Ave beads have an average diameter of 9.5 mm - The Pater beads are bigger and sterling capped with an average diameter of 11 mm.

2) All Metal Parts of the rosary itself : chain, center, cross, Pater bead caps, all are Sterling Silver.

3) There are 4 medals attached to the rosary - 3 of them are 18 Carat Solid Gold with Hallmarks of for 18 carat. 1 medal is Sterling and Gold --- The total weight of of 18 Carat Solid Gold on the medals is 3.80 gr grams.

The 18 K. Gold medals as well as the Sterling/gold medal are shown in close up, front and reverse in two pictures.

One is a very rare hand painted and enameled medal, with, on the reverse a name and a date : Odette - 12 November 1903.

4) Total length of the rosary is 62 cm ( 24.8 in) and the weight is 69.5 grams.

5) It will easily go over the head to be worn. Any size will do .

Pictures under Ultra Violet light show the special color that Genuine Amber takes under such lighting.

This is an extremely rare - in fact, unique - and very valuable item, made of rare and expensive material . It is in excellent condition and may still serve many generations as it is a heirloom to keep and pass on.
