The Byzantine Christ is a Christ in glory, that is, the artistic representation of Jesus Christ in his glorious body as opposed to the more human representations of Christ suffering the passion on the crucifix, or that of the infant Jesus. It is the usual representation of Christ in the Byzantine tradition.
This is a beautiful engraving signed by Jean Philippe Roche, who is a French very talented contemporary engraver who lives in the South of France.
