Impressive and Rare French Mother of Pearl & Sterling Silver Large Cross In Box – dd 1896 Never Used Brand New - Unique Museum Item

A Mother of Pearl and Sterling Silver antique large cross – crucifix in its original box.

Very unusual design and perfect detail as may be seen from close ups. Quite a unique item in New and never used condition in spite of its age -dated 1895 - Museum item of great rarity.

The cross measurements without the ring are 120 x 75 mm or 4.8 x 3 inches. quite large and with a Mother of Pearl tckness of 5.2 mm which is quite unusual, which with the heavy sterling silver gives it a heavy weight of 29 grams.

French Hallmarks for Sterling as well as makers' marks.

It is quite a large item that is usually worn as a pectoral cross. Its size allows it to be hanged on the wall, eventually.
