Roman Queen Gold and Jade Intaglio Vintage Earrings by The Swan Collection

Hand made reproduction of a sophisticated model of Roman earrings .

The stones are vintage green jade 100% hand carved intaglio glass cabochons as shown in the close-up.

Each stone is different as shown .

These 100 % hand carved glass intaglios are very special , rare and quite particular : it is a lot in mint condition that I acquired quite some time ago from an antiquity shop in Germany that was liquidating its very old inventory- some prewar.
On closer inspection I noticed that no two stones have the same carving in spite of the fact that all are of same shape and color.
I decided to use them in my special jewelry hand made designs.
The lot consisted of 23 stones and thus there are only 11 pairs of these earrings with 22 different stones.

The metal is Vermeil : 24 K gold on Sterling Silver.

width is 1,5 cm or 0.6 inches


This is a really unique model, very special, original and elegant in all respects .

The design is exclusive to The Swan : such earrings are sold nowhere else.


Their originality and particularity is that they are all hand made using the same techniques jewellers used 2000 years ago when the original items were crafted.
