Large, Exceptional 3D High Relief Mary & Jesus Sterling Medal + Chain and Clasps XXR

Presented here is an extremely rare, unusual and unique item : A high relief, large Sterling Silver medal of Mary with Child Jesus holding the Globe. It is extremely well carved and stamped.

It is a high relief 3D pendant on the obverse with a blank reverse, with a typical 1945-1950 Modern style. The signature ( JP probably) must be researched.

The pendant itself is of a large size : 3.3 cm in diameter.

All metal parts, pendant, chain clasps are sterling silver. The total weight together with the chain is 32.8 grams of sterling silver. A bit more than a tray ounce.

This is a rare item as there is no trace of similar items, but many others resembling.

It is in pristine condition.

The sterling silver chain is included with the pendant. It is a vintage chain entirely hand made.

Weight of the medal alone is a heavy 16.30 grams !!!!
The chain is 53 cm ( 21.5 in.) long and 16.50 grams in weight.
Total weight : 33.80 grams.
