Early 20th Cent. Antique Sterling and Garnet Lorraine Catholic Rosary Extreme Rarity

All Antique and Vintage Rosaries that I list come from my private collection.
They are genuine antiques – older than 100 years – or genuine vintages – from 30 to 100 years old.
All are in perfect condition and still very much usable. They are unique and a real pleasure to collect or still use.

The very special and unique item in this listing, is of extreme rarity and has the following characteristics:

1- The rosary dates from the Beginning opf the 20th Century and bears a large Lorraine Sterling Silver cross as well as a Sterling Credo Cross. The cross bears initials of two names. Therefore it may be deduced that this is a wedding rosary with two persons initials. The cross as well as other metal parts have been tested and they are 800/1000 which was the current silver content at the time. What makes it very interesting and rare is that it has a Lorraine Cross which today pertains to a French region, whereas in 1908 it was German and it also has a Credo Cross which is particular to the German rosaries.
2- Ave Beads are faceted garnets with diameter size is 8 mm
3- Pater Beads are Sterling silver as well as the triangle and the connecting chain.
4- Size of the cross is : 60 x 35 mm or 2.4 x 1.4 in.
5- Total weight of the rosary is 66 grams
6- Total length is 57 cm or 22.8 in.
7- All metal parts are sterling silver

This is a Unique item in all respects and may even be considered a museum item as it is a representation of mixed cultures pertaining to a border region between two countries.
